MISSION

Develop a sniper capable of solving complex field problems.

This course focuses on:

  • Independent decision-making
  • Fieldcraft and movement
  • Hide construction and occupation
  • Unknown distance engagements
  • Real-world rural and urban scenarios

This is not a shooting class.
 This is applied sniper training.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This program builds on foundational skills and pushes the shooter into operational application.

Students will:

  • Validate their rifle system and data
  • Operate in a sniper / observer framework
  • Conduct stalking and hide operations
  • Engage unknown distance targets
  • Execute live-fire rural and urban problems

Training is scenario-driven and performance-based, aligned with real-world sniper employment concepts.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Confirm and validate DOPE under real conditions
  • Operate effectively as part of a sniper team
  • Construct and occupy hides (rural and urban)
  • Conduct stalking movement undetected
  • Range and engage unknown distance targets
  • Solve multi-variable engagement problems
  • Maintain accuracy under time and environmental stress

DAY 1: SYSTEM VALIDATION & TEAM ALIGNMENT

Purpose: Get everyone on the same sheet of music before we push into field problems.

Morning

  • Admin, safety brief, and medical plan
  • Course expectations and performance standards
  • Rifle and equipment inspection
  • Review of fundamentals (no reteaching—validation only)

Midday

  • Zero confirmation
  • DOPE validation at distance
  • Cold bore verification

Afternoon

  • Team concepts:
    • Shooter / observer roles
    • Communication protocols
    • Target handoff
  • Workflow:
    • Observe → Decide → Execute
    • Information flow and correction
  • Known-distance engagements to confirm system performance

End State:
Every shooter has a validated rifle system, confirmed data, and understands team workflow.

DAY 2: UNKNOWN DISTANCE, STALKING & HIDES

Purpose: Introduce fieldcraft and remove controlled conditions.

Morning – Classroom / Field

  • Unknown distance engagement principles
  • MIL-based ranging and confirmation methods
  • Target detection techniques

Stalking Fundamentals

  • Movement techniques
  • Terrain use
  • Signature management (visual, movement, position)

Midday – Field Application

  • Stalk lanes (practice)
  • Movement to firing position
  • Range, build position, and engage

Afternoon – Hide Operations

  • Hide theory:
    • Rural hides
    • Urban hides

Purpose: Full integration under pressure.

Morning – Rural Problem Sets

  • Live-fire stalks
  • Unknown distance engagements
  • Time constraints
  • Environmental factors
