Pistol 101:

This single-day course serves as the cornerstone for all subsequent pistol training. It comprehensively covers crucial aspects such as safety, clearing, loading, equipment, fundamentals of marksmanship, draw sequence, clearing stoppages, and drills to assess and improve skills . While specifically crafted for beginners, the curriculum and techniques empower students to develop practical skills capable of withstanding stress and time constraints, making it a vital foundation for realistic proficiency.

Session 1 - Safety, clearing, loading, clearing stoppages, and fundamentals (9am-12pm):

  • Safety and handling: Master essential safety protocols for pistol handling.

  • Proper load, clear, and clearing stoppages

  • Draw sequence 

  • Initial evaluation 

  • Fundamental drills

Session 2 - Drills  (12:30pm-3:30pm):

  • Fundamental drills cont. 

  • Final evaluation 

Required Equipment:

  • Pistol

  • Pants

  • Knee pads (if needed)

  • Hearing/eye protection

  • Sunscreen/bug spray

  • Notebook, pen/pencil

  • 300 rounds of ammo 

  • Lunch and Water
