
This non-shooting course is taught by guest instructor, Jerah Hutchins. She has been teaching responsible gun ownership all around the country for the Personal Defense Network & her own company, Clearing the Chamber for 16 years. Her nonprofit, W.A.D.E (Women’s Awareness & Defense Endeavor) was launched in 2017, inspired by her own sexual assault & domestic violence encounters, where she gives free instruction to single mothers, low-income women, and those who have emancipated themselves from abusive relationships.
This is a couples class that focuses on family planning from a self defense and duress perspective. In this class you will learn:
- How to talk about the difficult topic of self defense with your spouse and children (when to train kids)
- Husband vs. wife roles when dealing with the threat
- Ideal Weapons placement
*outfitting your gun for maximum reliability & response (weapons light, night sights)
*safe storage to keep away from kids
- Freeze, Flee & Fight (with scenarios to move you out of the freeze)
*In home scenarios, out with the family scenarios
*Is your pet an asset or a liability?
- Medical Response (IFAK)
- The 911 call
- Utilizing your attorney
- The Aftermath
*legal & financial obligations, potential media coverage, necessity of counseling, additional resources.
