Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP)

Skill Level:  Intermediate - Advanced

Length: 7 hours classroom +1 range

We understand your time is valuable and limited, therefore, we make attending our concealed handgun permit course easy and convenient by offering one 8-hour session or two 4-hour sessions, in which you'll receive expert guidance in the nuances of carrying a concealed firearm in Colorado by experienced NRA certified instructors with diverse backgrounds and experience.

This course is invaluable in preparing you to carry a concealed handgun, and is one of the most comprehensive courses offered in the state of Colorado. This course meets and exceeds the requirements and new laws created by HB24-1174, and is accepted by all the County Sheriffs of Colorado.

After successfully completing the classroom training, live fire qualification, and written exam, you will receive a signed certificate of completion which will allow you to complete the permit application process.

Basic handgun experience is required for this course, which includes handgun safety fundamentals, the ability to load your firearm, and basic live fire experience. If want a quick & easy way to brush up on your skill level, our Introduction to Pistol course will ensure you are ready to take this CCW course.

Taking your concealed course anywhere else would be a mistake.

 

The 2 Part Course

This 2-part version of our CCW course allows the student to split the course into more manageable 4-hour blocks. The first session will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, and second session will be held on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of every month. You must sign up, and complete Session 1, prior to attending Session 2.

Session Breakdowns:

Session 1 (4 hours):

1. Introduction

2. Knowledge and safe handling of firearms and ammunition

3. Safe storage of firearms and child safety

4. Safe shooting fundamentals

5. Range Qualification

6. Holster Selection

*You must complete and pass the shooting qualification in Session 1 before attending Session 2.

Session 2 (4 hours):

1. Federal and state laws pertaining to the lawful purchase, ownership, transportation, use, and possession of firearms

2. State law pertaining to the use of deadly force for self-defense

3. Best practices for safely interacting with law enforcement personnel who are responding to an emergency

4. Techniques for avoiding a criminal attack and how to manage a violent confrontation, including conflict resolution and judgmental use of lethal force

5. Written Exam

6. Issue Certificates

The One and Done Course

The one session version of our CCW course allows students to cover all 12 parts included in our 2-session version in one day.

Before canceling, please review our class cancellation policy below:


More than 72 hours before class start time

You’re eligible for a full refund or a free transfer to another class within 3 months. Refunds can be processed in-store or over the phone.


Within 24–72 hours of class start time

No refunds will be issued. However, you are eligible for a one-time class transfer with a $25 rescheduling fee.


Less than 24 hours notice or no-shows

Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior — or failure to attend without notice — are not eligible for refunds or transfers.


👥 Class Size & Scheduling

Each class requires a minimum of 3 participants to run. Last-minute cancellations may impact our ability to conduct the class and affect other students’ schedules.


🌧️ Weather or Instructor Cancellations

In the rare event we must cancel or reschedule a class due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund or be offered a rescheduled date. We’ll notify you by email using the address provided at registration.
