You have an interest in Competitive Shooting but are not sure that its right for you. By the end of this course, you will be able to answer that question.

Length of Course: 1 Hour Classroom & 1.5 Hour of Range Time

Topics:

· Competitive Shooting Overview

· The Benefits of Competitive Shooting to Firearms Owners

· IDPA: History, Equipment, Rules and Scoring, how to find Local Matches, how to Register for Matches, how to get Match Results

· Firearms Safety

· Walk through an IDPA Course of Fire in the Classroom: Start Positions, Shooting Procedure, Use of Cover, Tactical Priority Target Engagement, Range Commands, Potential Procedural Errors, Reinforce Safety

· Range Time: Shoot a Basic Stage (Course of Fire), Score the Stage, Discussion of Stage Performance

Instructor Shooting Background:

The Gallery Shooting Range IDPA & Action Pistol Match Director, NRA Pistol Instructor, IDPA Safety Officer, Competitive Shooter in Multiple Shooting Sports at the Local, State, and National Levels

Required Equipment:

9mm or higher caliber Pistol, Kydex Holster, Sturdy Pistol Belt, Double Magazine Pouch, Eye & Ear Protection

Age: 21+ (If under 21 must be Accompanied by a Parent or Guardian)
