The two-hour introductory rifle class provides beginners with a comprehensive foundation in handling and shooting rifles. The class is divided into two parts:

Classroom Session (1 hour): In the classroom portion, participants learn the fundamentals of rifle mechanics, safety protocols, and shooting techniques. Topics covered include:

  • Parts of a rifle and their functions.
  • Different types of rifles and their uses.
  • Basic rifle safety rules and handling procedures.
  • Proper stance, grip, and aiming techniques.
  • Overview of shooting fundamentals such as sight alignment, sight picture, and trigger control.
  • Importance of ear and eye protection.

Range Session (1 hour): During the range session, participants apply what they've learned in a controlled shooting environment under the guidance of experienced instructors. This practical session includes:

  • Demonstrations on loading and unloading a rifle safely.
  • Practice drills to improve marksmanship skills.
  • Individual coaching to correct stance, grip, and aiming based on each participant's needs.
  • Emphasis on maintaining safety protocols and adhering to range rules throughout the session.

By the end of the class, participants will have gained a basic understanding of rifle operation, fundamental shooting techniques, and safety practices essential for further skill development in rifle marksmanship.

 

Materials Provided by Students:

  • Rifle or rent one from The Gallery Range.
  • Rifle must have a sighting system installed or iron sights.
  • 50 rounds of ammunition [no green tip, STTE ammo]
  • Duty Belt, Sling, mag pouches are optional.
  • Eye and Ear protection.
  • Notebook and pen.

Materials Provided by Instructor:

  • Power Point Presentation
  • Range Targets

Course Cancellation/Change

  • Substitutions of attendees may be made at any time.
  • Attendees must cancel at least 72 hours prior to the course date to receive a full refund less a $15 administrative fee.
  • For cancellations received within 48 hours of the course date no cash refunds will be provided.  Instead, a one-time class rescheduling can be made.  A rescheduled course must occur within 12 months from the original course date.  If a course has not been attended within the 12-month period, all course fees are forfeited by the participant.
  • Failure to attend the course or cancellations less than 48 hours notification will result in no refund or credit of the course fee or rescheduling.
  • The Gallery reserves the right to cancel or reschedule seminars/classes at any time.  IF we cancel or reschedule the seminar/class due to weather or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, you are entitled to a full refund.  The Gallery is not responsible for travel arrangements, travel fees, or any expenses incurred by you as a result of such cancellation.  If the Gallery cancels a seminar/class in which you are enrolled, you will be contacted at the email address you provided when registering, so please be sure to provide a valid email address and check your email prior to attending class.
