Another great outing at Cowtown. Shot with another buddy on Alpha Platform before the daily heat set in. The young lady at the Check-in booth, I believe her name is Mikayla (?), is a delight. Good to see the ongoing improvements around the range property. However we did notice that targets on the long distance platforms seem to be suffering some-lots that we have mapped in the past are no longer there. Lots of targets from 250-500 yards but from 500 to 900 seems to be a significant gap. 600, 700 and 800 it is tough to find targets to work into D.O.P.E. Overall, great. I enjoy the smaller hangers - 8 to 9 inch plates or smaller provide a good challenge at distance.

Guys, I had a great time as usual. One request--Platform Bravo could really use some shade cloth on the east for the early morning sun. I was there 630-830. I was in the shade after 730 or so, but it was pretty warm early on. Thanks.

could not get the stars to go to 5. Great time today with my buddy CJ Zilveti. We used the Zero Bay to dial-in CJ's returned scope from Nightforce. I have used the Zero Bay twice before and it is a very valuable resource for members. We had al but one table filled when we arrived but one table was packing and leaving which gave us the opportunity to use 2 - one for 50 yards and one for 100 yards. Dialed in his scope and verified my zero on a new Ruger Precision 17HMR. Moved on up to Platform Alpha and had 2 hours of fun hitting steel out across the canyon. Good day!!

Back on Platform Alpha for some long range shooting. Good target selection. Shooting with my buddy CJ Zilveti with his Ruger Precision 6.5 Creed and I was shooting a newly purchased Savage Axis in 223 Rem. Both picked and alternately hit every target we chose from 250 yds out to 900 on the far hill. Happy to see some smaller hangers out there to choose from. Especially shooting the 223 it is quite fun working the smaller targets - aim small miss small or Hit big on the smaller target. Thanks guys, range looks good.

Liked the steel shooting range, it allows you to shoot steel without all the setup of my own steel. Will definitely use this from time to time when I don't have a lot of time. I also like the shade to shoot from especially during the heat of the day. Well done.

Today we took my daughter-in-law for her first shot ever. It was a ver relaxed, gradual experience which gave us time to teach her about range safety. This led into the safe use of the handgun she was firing for the first time. Cowtowns private bays mean that new shooters can learn without undue stress, right next door to a bay where experienced shooters are running their drills. It’s a great place.

Been going to Cowtown for over 15 years. Lots of great improvements to the site and a much improved check in process to eliminate folks who book a lot of time, then no show. Used to be very frustrating to see most time slots filled, then get there and see many empty bays/platforms.

First day at the range after orientation yesterday. I’m head over heels. Every staff I encountered called me by name which made me feel welcomed. Met an awesome member at the zero range and had cool conversations. Being a solo female shooter can feel intimidating coming to a new range but not once did I feel out of place. I can see myself staying a member long term!

Recent efforts to improve the range and the overall experience are outstanding. Possible additional improvements might include grading the surface of the bays and adding a layer of small size gravel. Also, providing a dedicated shooting bench and stool at each bay would be great.

Can't think of a better place to shoot. Be it training, teaching or just having fun with friends, Cowtown is great. With the Bays (which I use mostly) you have the freedom to set up your course as you'd like and can take things at you own pace, no Range Master to call out commands and regulate your every move, YOU are the range master.

I am seeing good improvement at the range over this year. Some of the changes have been a challenge but overall I am pleased with the changes I have seen. I brought a guest today and our experience was very good. His first time at Cowtown and first time shooting off the platforms. I had the chance to talk with Kevin while my guest was processing the waiver. Good reports. Good to see the staff interacting so closely with members and new folks.
