Initial and 5 year renewal course for armed work card

This course fulfills the requirements for qualifying those whose employer requires them to carry a firearm on duty. Only those currently employed by a PILB recognized business can take this course.

The class will be given over the course of two consecutive days with each day being 6.5 hours long.

The course consists of eight hours of training and instruction on carrying, handling and using a firearm safely, including the completion of a written exam with a passing score of 75% or better.
Additionally, there is a minimum of 5 hours of instruction and training at a firing range during which time each person must qualify using a firearm of the same type and caliber as the firearm they will be using while on duty.

Required: Students attending must bring a properly completed State of Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board “Verification of Employment for Armed Security” Form (Revision 10/2014) or provisional paper, their driver’s license, and their valid Nevada Registration Work Card issued by PILB that states “Unarmed” or "Armed." Students MUST present these documents to the instructor at the beginning of class or they will not be allowed to participate in the course of training.

Store Policies

Returns:

Non Firearm Merchandise: Must be within 7 days of purchase in original condition and packaging and will be subject to 20% restocking fee.
Firearms, NFA items and Ammunition are not eligible for return, once transferred.
Firearms or NFA items Not Transferred will incur a 25% restocking fee for cancellation or return, SUBJECT TO management approval.
Special Orders are not eligible for return or cancellation once the item is ordered.

Layaways:

Payment Terms:

25% deposit required to place item on layaway.

Under $1,000 must be paid in full within 60 days of the original transaction date.
Over $1,000 must be paid in full within 90 days of the original transaction date.
Cancelled layaways will be charged a 20% restocking fee as forfeited deposit. Balance will be returned as in-store credit.

Unresolved Background Check:

Unresolved background checks will not be transferred to the individual.

Denied Background Check:

Denied background checks will not be transferred to the individual.

Memberships:

Cancellation requests must be emailed to AA@RenoGuns.com a minimum of 10 days prior to renewal date.
All Memberships automatically renew upon expiration.

Gunsmith Work:

We recommend test firing and inspecting your firearm at time of pickup. Any concerns or issues must be addressed within 24 hours of pickup.

Transfers: (Defined as Firearms received by Reno Guns & Range)

Unresolved or Denied background checks will not be transferred to the individual.

Storage Fees:

Firearms that have been approved must be picked up within 30 days of background check submission or a new background check will be required. Firearms left over 30 days will incur a $10/mo handling fee.
NFA items that have been approved and not picked up within 30 days will incur a $10/mo handling fee.
Firearms and NFA items that have been Unresolved or Denied have 90 days to resubmit for a background check. Items left over 90 days will incur a $10/mo handling fee.

Consignment Sales

80% of sale price will be sent as check to Consignor 30 days after transfer of item.

Instruction Cancellation or Reschedule

A class may be rescheduled or store credit issued with written notice at least 48 hours prior to the start of class.

No credit will be given for cancellations within 48 hours, including no-shows, with the exception of documented illness or family emergency.
