
Initial and 5 year renewal course for armed work card
This course fulfills the requirements for qualifying those whose employer requires them to carry a firearm on duty. Only those currently employed by a PILB recognized business can take this course.
The class will be given over the course of two consecutive days with each day being 6.5 hours long.
The course consists of eight hours of training and instruction on carrying, handling and using a firearm safely, including the completion of a written exam with a passing score of 75% or better.
Additionally, there is a minimum of 5 hours of instruction and training at a firing range during which time each person must qualify using a firearm of the same type and caliber as the firearm they will be using while on duty.
Required: Students attending must bring a properly completed State of Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board “Verification of Employment for Armed Security” Form (Revision 10/2014) or provisional paper, their driver’s license, and their valid Nevada Registration Work Card issued by PILB that states “Unarmed” or "Armed." Students MUST present these documents to the instructor at the beginning of class or they will not be allowed to participate in the course of training.
