Other Restrictions: All students must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. Photo identification is required at check-in.
Intermediate Pistol transitions shooters from our Basic Pistol course to our Defensive Pistol Series. This course focuses on the repetition of fundamentals -which are often taught but rarely emphasized.
Intermediate Pistol is a four-hour class that is designed to run like private instruction. One hour of classroom time permits the instructor to refresh students with safety procedures, terminology, and illustrations of the fundamentals. After classroom time, an average of three hours of range time will follow - this is our longest range-time course! On the range, we will have a lead instructor directing live-fire drills. However, every 2-3 students will have an additional instructor that will work directly with them. Having these additional instructors ensures that no student is overlooked regardless of minor or major adjustments needed.
Our goal for Intermediate Pistol is to increase students' knowledge, experience, and confidence in a challenging and fun environment. Shooters can expect to fire approximately 200 rounds throughout our increasingly challenging drills. Please note that some drills are created to induce stress while shooting.
Students will learn and then put into motion the following principles of shooting to ensure that their foundation will allow them to confidently move forward in their pursuits of more advanced training: firearm safety, malfunction causes, immediate action drill (clearing malfunctions), and more.
You're welcome to bring your personal firearm to this class. If you will be renting a firearm, you will be able to choose between a Glock 44 (.22 LR), Glock 45 (9mm), or a Glock 19 (9mm). Your instructor will likely recommend using the 9mm.
